Description

Clindamycin 600 mg Injection is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat serious bacterial infections, especially those caused by anaerobic bacteria. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, effectively stopping bacterial growth.

Composition:

• Clindamycin Phosphate – 600 mg (per 4 ml ampoule)

Indications:

• Severe respiratory tract infections (e.g., pneumonia)

• Skin and soft tissue infections (e.g., abscesses)

• Bone and joint infections (e.g., osteomyelitis)

• Gynecological infections (e.g., pelvic inflammatory disease)

• Intra-abdominal infections (e.g., peritonitis)

• Septicemia and endocarditis

Dosage and Administration:

• Route: Intravenous (IV) or Intramuscular (IM) injection

• Adult Dose: 600 mg every 6–8 hours (as directed by the physician)

• Infusion Rate: Should not exceed 30 mg/min (for IV)

• Reconstitution: Dilute for IV use with appropriate sterile fluids

Precautions and Warnings:

• Use with caution in patients with liver or kidney impairment

• Monitor for Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea

• Not recommended during pregnancy unless necessary

• Avoid rapid IV administration to prevent cardiac arrest
