Description

Meropenem 1 gm Injection is a broad-spectrum carbapenem antibiotic used to treat severe bacterial infections. It works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, making it effective against Gram-positive, Gram-negative, and anaerobic bacteria.

Composition:

• Meropenem – 1 g (Sterile Lyophilized Powder for Injection)

Indications:

Meropenem 1 gm Injection is used to treat:

• Complicated Intra-Abdominal Infections
• Hospital-Acquired Pneumonia (HAP) and Community-Acquired Pneumonia (CAP)
• Complicated Urinary Tract Infections (cUTI)
• Bacterial Meningitis
• Sepsis and Septicemia
• Skin and Soft Tissue Infections

Dosage and Administration:

✅ Route of Administration:

• Intravenous (IV) Infusion – Over 15-30 minutes
• Intravenous (IV) Bolus – Over 3-5 minutes

✅ Dosage Guidelines:

• Adults & Adolescents: 1 gm every 8 hours
• Complicated Infections: Up to 2 gm every 8 hours
• Pediatric Patients (≥3 months): 20-40 mg/kg every 8 hours

Precautions and Warnings:

• Renal Impairment: Adjust dose in patients with kidney dysfunction.
